Green Life In Dublin Reading List March 2022

Hi Lovelies,

Welcome back! And welcome if You are new here ???

Green Life In Dublin Reading List March 2022
Green Life In Dublin Reading List March 2022

How are all of You, I hope You are well? I am re-introducing book segment into my blog, I am hoping You will stay for the ride. I’ll talk about my reading list for March, think Green Living Made Easy by Nancy Birtwhistle, Oil That Heals, Untamed by Glennon Doyle and more.

I am not entirely sure how much books I can read and review in a month, let’s start with six – but please bear in mind that I am starting to judge for the Clean Beauty Awards again, not to mention keeping up with my usual content AND all these other pages I just created on Instagram (more on that later). I might be biting more than I can chew?

So what books I am hoping to read for this month?

UNTAMED BY GLENNON DOYLE

I actually finished this book and am in the middle of reviewing it, but I started reading and listening to all these other books, so the project got a bit cold. I need to get back to it, because I have a tendency to flake on the things that my mind marks as “done”. If You want the review in short, here it is – You need to read this book. Your mind will be blown multiple times, guaranteed. I think I might just have found my spirit animal in Glennon Doyle.

Green Living Made Easy by Nancy Birtwhistle

We all want to do our best for the planet, but it’s often hard to find the time and energy to think of eco-friendly alternatives. Nancy Birthwhistle (Great British Bake Off winner, no less!) makes it easy with 101 budget-friendly tips, ideas and recipes in GREEN LIVING MADE EASY. You and me know that green living is practically synonymous with me, so I am all ears. I am yet to receive it, but I will make sure to put everything else aside to make time for it when it arrives.

Wild mocktails by lottie muir

Umm, I probably did not tell you that I stopped drinking? I did make that decision for myself at the start of the year, but it was more of a soft launch as not to announce it far and wide and ten fail. So far, so good. The only thing that is kind of missing is a glass of something at gatherings – I find if You nurse only water, You get a few funny (or not) jabs and then find Yourself explaining for the rest of the night. I have tried and failed to make my own, so  I enlisted the help of this and the following book:

MOCKTAILS BY KESTER THOMPSON

But let me be honest, I much prefer Wild Mocktails – if I think of a mocktail I imagine something resembling a cocktail, something bubbly, some bitters, some fresh juices, something unexpected, some flowers maybe? The first book delivers just that, with some ingredients that even I do not know, some recipes for DIY bitters, syrups and the like. Mocktails by Kester Thompson promises 200 recipes, but opens with… a lemonade. A quick flip through shows more lemonades, teas, spiced coffees, teas, chai masala and the like, but that was quite disappointing to me. I guess every non alcoholic drink can be called a mocktail, but to gather all that and then name the book “mocktails” is kind of misleading in my two cents. I will still give it time and attention, maybe it will be love at second sight, who knows?

The Oil That Heals by William A. McGarey M.D

If You are interested in healing powers of castor oil, this book is for you. I am only a third way in, but I learned a great deal already. I promise to review is separately on my Green Life In Dublin Reads IG page and maybe here too. Turns out humble castor bean oil holds amazing healing powers that we know almost nothing about. I am very intrigued, but I gotta hurry reading it, as I borrowed it from the library and it is already requested by someone else. I will keep You posted.

The Joyful Frugalista by Serina Bird

I loved listening to this book! I have to be frugal too, not by choice, mind you. So I am always interested in tips and tricks. Aside all the usual talk of coupons and shopping for second hand furniture and clothes (did You check out my Green Life In Dublin Wears IG page yet? It has little content now, but I will feature lots of second hand chic, promise!), Serina talks about setting financial goals, The Secret and ordering things and experiences from the Universe.

And here are two other books that are of interest to me, they are on my list for March, but I am yet to open them. Give a girl some time 🙂

You are a goddess : working with the sacred feminine to awaken, heal and transform – Sophie Bashford

Crystals for self-care : the ultimate guide to crystal healing / Kirsty Gallagher

Find them in all the places where good books are sold.

Online, like in The Book Depository.

Or ask for them in Your local library.

Now, Your turn! Please tell me what are You reading? Looking forward to hearing it.

Please check out my other pages on IG if any are of interest to You?
