Changes to Green Life In Dublin

Hi Lovelies,

Welcome back! And welcome if You are new here xo

Hope this finds You well. Thank You for visiting my little corner of internet. Let’s talk about some changes to my blog, shall we? The main thing is I will be posting twice a month instead of weekly.

Let’s talk about algorithms and our mental health and “hustle culture” for a minute. We all know blogs/ social media etc. are run on algorithms. They favour posting at the same time. They favour posting frequently. If not, Your posts end up in “online jail” aka not shown to people. Engagement in the first hour is also crucial, if You get less, they deem Your content not interesting to people and show it to even less of Your followers. So we all end up hustling like mad, but at what cost to our mental health? I know I am way more stressed now than when I didn’t have a blog. Because I don’t know about You, time is flying at blink-and-it-is-posting-day again rate. Up until so far, I blogged weekly, but I have to make changes to post less frequently. I have a lot going on in my real life and I need to cut all the stresses I can. With my own and my nearest and dearest health problems and traveling 700km a week to see doctors it is not feasible for me to post weekly any more. We all have family, work, friends, social life and other plates to spin and it is impossible to keep them all in the air at the same time. Sometimes it flows effortlessly, but other times it is a real struggle. Don’t know about You, but I end up exhausted, stressed and tired.  With pressure to post to please AI/ algorithms Gods I have posted “meh” content in the past, simply because it was time to post. Something, anything, but it was time to post because I will be penalized if I don’t. That is not how I want to roll going forward, posting for the sake of posting is not what I want to do. So I need to re-group, re-focus on quality instead of quantity. You can still expect the same type of content going forward, but maybe less of it and more focused. As much fun as Slow Fashion Year Project is, it isn’t really useful or helpful to people , so I will shelve it once it wraps up at the end of the year.  Empties too, I might keep it as a context, but I need to decide how frequently to post it, definitely not monthly. As much as it is important for me to show You that the products I use and the products I review are the same ones (not always the case with other bloggers), I grew tired of posting them monthly. Is it helpful for me or You to see my four empties of the month? I don’t think so.

Ever seen one of those memes when someone is asked how he is and answers “oh, just going with the flow” and then it shows people tossed and turned by streams?

So my plan is to reduce my stream and yet still bring good content to You guys. I hope You will still stay for the ride. I appreciate You, I truly do.

See You here 26th November, still Tuesday, but in two weeks.

Sending LOVE & LIGHT,

Renata.
